Kohima, February 6 (MExN): The Directorate of School Education, Kohima, has informed that the next entrance examination for admission to class VIII in the Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC), Dehradun (UK), for January 2010 term will be conducted on June 1 and 2. However, only boys are eligible to apply for admission to the RIMC, Dehradun, it informed. Candidates appearing for the test should not be less than 11½ years in age but should not have attained the age of 13 years as on January 1, i.e. they should have been born not earlier than January 2, 1997, and not later than July 1, 1998. Candidates should either be studying in class VII or have passed VII from any recognised school at the time of admission to the RIMC, i.e. on January 2010. The written examination will consist of three papers – English, mathematics (on June 1) and general knowledge (on June 2). Dates for the Oral interview will be intimated to them by early September 2009. Intelligence and personality of the candidates will be tested in the oral interview, it was added. Application forms, prospectus and old question papers can be obtained from the Commandant, RIMC, Dehradun (UK), on payment of Rs.250/- through demand draft in favour of Commandant, RIMC, Dehradun; Drawer branch, SBI Tel. Bhavan Dehradun (bank code-01576). These will be dispatched by registered post or courier. Application in duplicate on prescribed forms accompanied by the bank draft drawer at SBI Tel. Bhavan (bank code-01576) Dehradun, only will be accepted for Rs.50/- (general) and Rs.5/- (for ST/SC candidates) in favour of Commandant RIMC, Dehradun, along with 3 passport size photographs of the candidate should reach the Director of School Education, Kohima, on or before March 31, 2009. Certificate of age (in duplicate) from the school record or Municipal Board should be submitted. It further informed the applicants to make no change in the date of birth as originally given with the application forms.
