Eligibility criteria:

-The student must be within 10 to 12 years as on July 1 2008 (ie born between July 2, 1995 to July 1, 1997, both dates inclusive). Six months relaxation in age will be permitted for sons of war widows.

-Students who have cleared class V from a government-recognised school before the admission date to a Military School.

-Students should be medically fit; selected candidates will have to undergo medical exam at Command/Zonal and other hospitals as nominated by the Director General of Medical Services before admission.

How to apply:

-JCOs/OR (and their equivalents in the Navy and Air Force including ex-servicemen).

-The prospectus and application forms along with a demand draft of Rs 150 (Rs 50 for SC/ST along with a copy of SC/ST certificate), drawn in favour of the Principal of the School can be obtained from the following addresses:

ADMISSION PROCEDURE The school has a provision for 350 Boarders. Sixty seven percent of the boarders vacancies are reserved for the sons of serving, ex-service and deceased JCOs, NCOs and OR of the Army and their equivalent ranks in the Navy and the Air Force. Sons of service Officers and civilians are allotted the remaining thirty three percent seats in the ratio of twenty and thirteen percent respectively. Application forms and prospectus for class VI, IX and XI can be obtained from the school through post by forwarding a DD FOR RS 150/- along with self addressed envelope bearing stamps worth Rs 48/- or in person by paying a DD of Rs 150/- in favour of Principal, Military School Bangalore, payable at Bangalore. The school prospectus may be referred for tuition fee, other fees and other details like clothing, pocket money etc. these are subject to revision based on the directive from Army Headquarters. Serving and Retired JCOs and their equivalent ranks are also required to apply through the schools. Applications including those of wards of serving and Retired JCOs and OR will be submitted to the Military Schools. Last date for filling up of application form for class VI and other details regarding Common Entrance Test are mentioned in the application form. Eligibility: Age : 10 to 12Years for admission to class VI, 13 to 15 Years for admission to class IX and 15 to 17 Years for class XI as on 01 July of the year of admission. Six months relaxation in age is permissible for sons of war widows / JCOs/OR Killed in action. Education: A candidate studying in class V is eligible to appear in the admission test, However, he must pass class V from a Govt./recognized school before the date of admission to a Military School. Similarly for admission to class IX and XI the candidate should have passed class VIII and X respectively from a recognized school/ Board at the time of admission. Medical: The candidate should be Medically fit. Selected candidates will have to undergo medical exam at the Command / Zonal and other Military hospitals as nominated by the Director General of Medical Services prior to admission and only those found medically fit will be offered admission Admission Test: On scrutiny, forms are dispatched to the Army Headquarters, MT-15. Incomplete forms will be rejected. Eligible candidates will have to appear for the Common Entrance test for admission to class VI and IX which will be held in the Month of Dec of the previous year of admission. The Date of exam will be mentioned in the application form. The exam for class VI will be automated OCR based in subjects of Reasoning, Mathematics, General Knowledge and English of the level of class V. Examination for admission to class IX will be held in respective schools in the subjects of English, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies. Admission to class XI will be based on class X Board exam results. No written exam will be held for admission to class XI. All details pertaining to list of exam Centers, last date for submission of filled in application form will be given out in the application form. Last date for admission to class XI will be 05 Jun of the year of admission. Successful candidates will be required to appear for interview in respective Military Schools as per the intimation. Final merit list be announced after the Interview. Based on order of merit and medical fitness . Results will also be posted on Internet and Army Intranet. Boys appearing for the test and escort if any, will have to make their own arrangement for stay at the testing centers. Note: The admission for the next session 2007-08 has been closed. No Applications will be accepted hereafter (04 Oct 06).
