1. The Rashtriya Indian Military College is an Inter services Institution and a category ‘ A’ establishment of the Ministry of Defence. The College was established in 1922 with the primary aim of preparing the boys for entry into Defence Services and to provide quality all round education to young boys.

  Scheme of Examination- The examination comprises of: -

(a) Written Examination- three papers,

English,

Mathematics  and

General Knowledge 

 (b) Viva Voce- The interview will be held for only those candidates who qualify in the written exam, and the date for interview will be intimated to them 

(c) Medical Examination- The candidates finally selected after the viva voce will undergo a medical examination at selected Military Hospitals and only those candidates found medically fit will be considered for selection and admission to the RIMC. T

 Fee- Fees at RIMC is heavily subsidized by the Central Govt. The fee is presently Rs. 22,300/- per year. 

 Procedure to Obtain Application Forms - Copies of the prospectus with application forms and set of old question papers can be obtained from the Commandant, RIMC, Dehradun (UK) on payment of Rs 250/- (Rupees two hundred fifty only) through Demand Draft in favour of Commandant RIMC, Dehradun payable at STATE BANK OF INDIA, BRANCH- TEL BHAVAN DEHRADUN (CODE-1576). These will be despatched by registered parcel or Courier. .

Only 25 Cadets are admitted every six-month. Candidates should not be less than 11 ½ years of age or must not have attained the age of 13 years on 01 (Jan) and 01 (July) of the term they join. Admissions are made to Class VIII only. The Candidate must be studying in Class VII or above in a recognized school at the time of joining. Application forms are to be submitted to respective State governments. Candidates are selected on the basis of their performance in an All India Entrance Examination held twice a year comprising a written examination consisting of test papers in English (125 marks), Mathematics (200 marks) and General Knowledge (75 marks), successful candidates are called for Viva - Voce test (50 marks). A merit list is prepared and those who qualify are sent for medical examinations. Those finally cleared are invited to join up.
